The quickest way is our secure online ticket order system which is easy to use. Click on the “Book Now” button on our home page, or click the “Tickets” tab above. By placing your order online, you will be able to see available seats and select the ones that you want. If you are having trouble with purchasing online, you can telephone us (616) 997-7000 and a customer service representative will assist you.
If the train is listed as “Sold out at the moment”, please keep checking back online for cancellations as they are updated in real time. We do not have a cancellation list so please keep checking online for availability.
If the train is not sold out, you can purchase tickets at our station (306 Main Street, Coopersville, MI 49404) the day and time of your train. We strongly suggest you still order your tickets online as the seats may be sold out by the time you reach our station. Please arrive at least one half hour before your train departure so we can process your tickets and check you in at our station.

We are very happy to have renovated our Car 5 to be accessible friendly. It is equipped with a wheelchair lift and wheelchair tie downs. Booking early will enable families to be able to sit across from the wheelchair rider. This car is available only on select train rides and is in Premium Seating. The lift can also accommodate people with other equipment and needs. This car is considered accessible friendly. Due to the historic limitations of our passenger equipment, we are exempt from ADA regulations under US Code: Title 42: Section 12184. Please call ahead to notify our staff that you will be needing the lift for your train ride and plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to allow you ample time to get into your seats.

There are restrooms both in our train station and on board the train. The conductor will be happy to direct you the restroom located in your car. Restrooms are located at the east end of each car. Our Accessible friendly Car 5 which has a lift and wheelchair tie-downs also has an accessible restroom for those who may use wheelchairs or walkers.

Ticket prices vary depending on the train ride and choice of either Premium seating or Coach seating. To see the prices, select the train ride of your choice, and then select if you want Premium seating or if you want Coach seating to see prices for both Adults and Children.

TRIP PROTECTION CANCELLATION POLICY:
Trip Protection gives you the flexibility and extra assurance that you desire. It allows you to cancel or re-schedule your train trip up to 5 days before day of departure for any reason. (ie: If your departure is on Saturday, you must contact us by the Monday before) Re-scheduling is subject to space availability within the same calendar year at equal or less value ticket pricing. Any remaining fare left after re-scheduling will not be refunded. Higher fare tickets will require payment of the difference at the time of re-booking.
Cancellations with Trip Protection receive a full refund, minus the expense for trip protection and any processing fees.IF YOU DECLINE TRIP PROTECTION

A beverage and a snack are included in Premium seating. Our snacks provided in Premium seating are not gluten free. When riding in our coach class, water in closed containers and light snacks are okay but please note that We strive to be PEANUT FREE. Please do not bring anything with peanuts or peanut butter aboard our trains as this can be dangerous to some passengers and some of our crew who are highly allergic. We wouldn’t want to stop and ruin the ride for everyone and endanger lives for your peanut butter and jelly sandwich or candy bar. Thank you so much!!!

At least 30 minutes before scheduled train departure. This allows us to depart on time.
We cannot delay the train departure for late passenger arrivals.
If you have your ticket information (either on your mobile device or printed out) there is no need to check in at our station. Just board the train and the conductor will assist you to your seat. Seat assignment numbers are located over the windows in the cars.

Coach Class is regular coach seating.
Premium Class is table and chair seating, plus a beverage and snack.

There is no swapping or changing of seats aboard unless directed by the conductor. All children must be seated with or next to an adult from their party. All of our seating is assigned and chosen by the customer at checkout. Although the system allows you to select seats that are not next to each other, there is NO changing of seats onboard. An adult from your party MUST be seated next to any children from your party. We appreciate your understanding.

All children over the age of 1 must have their own seat purchased. Also, all children must be seated next to the adults in their party. Due to assigned seating, there are no exceptions to this rule.

Due to the fact that the engine will un-couple in Marne from the east end of the train, pass by, and couple back up to the west side of the train to pull us back to Coopersville, seats facing east will be facing forward on our way to Marne, and on the way back, they will be facing backward. So no matter which side you choose, half of your trip will be forward, and half will be backward.

No. No pets or emotional support animals are allowed on our vintage equipment or in our station.

Unfortunately, we do not offer daily train rides. Our train rides are specialty or themed train rides that occur between March and December. All of our available train rides open to the public are listed on our main page with descriptions, at mitrain.net. If you click on the Tickets page and scroll through the calendar, you can see all the train rides we offer by month.

To redeem your gift certificate, first select the seats that you want on the train of your choosing. At the checkout screen, input your gift certificate number to redeem the value of the voucher, and it will be deducted from your booking total. After that, you will be prompted to complete your booking by entering your credit card info.

Weather cancellations are extremely rare. Unless notified via email by us, the trains will run as scheduled. Please be sure to leave ample and extra time to arrive at the station 30 minutes before departure.
In the case of us having to cancel your train ride, refunds will be given.

We are located in downtown Coopersville, MI. Our Train Station is at 306 Main Street on the north side of the track. Our Passenger Boarding Platform is located on the south side of the tracks. Parking is along streets and in the areas of the map which are labeled in yellow -Parking. If you need special assistance to board, please call ahead and see our ticket agent located in the station. Parking in Coopersville is free.
